Non-drug, Non-surgical, State-of-the-art Technology
for the Relief & Correction of Low Back Pain
The reason medicine has no effective answer for low back pain is because 97% of all LBP is structural, not medical.
If you are one of the 97% of LBP sufferers, chances are your back pain is caused by interference to one or more of the following structures:
- Vertebras are bones that protect your spinal cord. They can be forced or locked out of proper position causing subluxations.
- Muscles and ligaments are supportive tissues that can be stretched, torn, or weakened.
- Discs are shock absorbers that can bulge, rupture or wear down.
- Nerves carry the body’s messages controlling the function of the body and can get stretched, pinched or irritated.
What might be causing your back problem?
Spinal instability caused from an imbalance to the vertebra, muscles/ligaments, discs and/or nerves, may result in a herniated disc, degenerative joint disease, sciatica, facet syndrome, spinal arthritis, or spinal stenosis.
Relief is in sight for those suffering from chronic and acute low back pain with Lumbar Decompression Therapy. It is state-of-the-art technology that uses gradual decompression to remove all of the pressure from the vertebra and discs, allowing the vertebrate to separate, causing the discs to reposition themselves relieving painful pressure on spinal nerves.
Removing the pressure not only allows the discs to reposition, but it also helps with the following:
- reduces adhesions in the area
- reduces inflammation
- increases the fluid exchange which aids in regeneration of the disc, making it healthier and more stable.
The lumbar spine supports enormous stress loads and over time, discs become compressed and suffer abuse. These constant forces, along with trauma, promote disc deterioration and herniation. No other form of treatment achieves the success rates of Lumbar Decompression Therapy. This treatment allows patients to get back to their work and normal lifestyle faster than ever before.
The decompression technology delivers five different decompression programs. It also allows the doctor to target a specific segment of the spine for treatment. The duration and amount of traction varies for each patient.
Based on medical research, the number of sessions needed depends on the patient and the type and duration of the condition. A number of treatment programs have been developed for various conditions.
How soon does relief occur?
There are 3 phases to Lumbar Decompression Therapy (LDT)
Phase 1: Relief As a general rule, most patients experience significant changes in symptoms within the first 3 - 8 LDT procedures. Occasionally, in the case of a more advanced degenerative condition or multiple herniated discs, it may take 10-15 sessions before recognizing a decline in symptoms. Also, some patients appear to have rapid relief after the first treatment. Relief response varies according to age, body type, and degree of severity.
Phase 2: Correction As strength is regained in the lumbar spine, circulation is restored to damaged discs, and the healing begins. Correction implies that the process that leads to the painful episode has been slowed, stopped, or reversed. This corrective process occurs simultaneously with symptom relief.
Phase 3: Strengthening The process that leads to most low back pain (mechanical spinal pathology) involves instability of the support structures, degeneration, and ultimately, arthritis. The LDT procedure quickly reintroduces movement to the joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments to help you regain back strength and restore lost lumbar stability.
Each patient will complete 20-30 LDT procedures at various paces. Some programs will be daily for 20-30 treatments; others may be daily for one to two weeks followed by decreasing frequency. At Schenck Chiropractic, your individual condition dictates the prescription for your care.
Back pain is an epidemic in our country. If you are one of the more than 21 million Americans suffering from low back or leg pain, and want to do something real about correcting it instead of masking the problem with drugs, surgery, electrical gadgets, creams, or avoidance techniques, it’s time to start Lumbar Decompression Therapy.
What Patients Have to Say about the LDT
Susan, 36 "Before I started the LDT treatments, I was in constant severe pain. My right foot was numb and I had stabbing pain in my buttocks and right leg. I was unable to stand, sit or drive; and had trouble sleeping. I saw an orthopedist who scheduled me for surgery, and a chiropractor who said my lumbar disc was so bad that he would not touch it. I heard about the LDT program from my mom and decided to give it a try. After 10 treatments, I was 80% better, and now that I completed the program, I am completely pain-free! I am very thankful I did not go through surgery. I recommended the LDT treatments to anyone as an alternative to surgery.”
Larry, 39 Two years ago, Larry was riding his bike, hit by a car, and thrown 50 feet. He suffered severe low back pain and radiating leg pain for more than one year. Following Larry’s fourth LDT treatment, all leg pain was gone. By the sixth treatment, most of his back pain had receded as well. “I’m now focused on strengthening my back with the LDT unit. It’s incredible how much better I feel without the pain.”
David, 49 Shortly after his 49 th birthday, David suffered a herniated disc and had severe pain down his legs as well as his back. Walking, sleeping, and the most routine of activities became major obstacles. After his ninth LDT treatment, David’s leg pain had been resolved and his back pain greatly diminished. At the end of the treatment cycle, David’s back is now stronger than it’s ever been. “Ten years ago I had back surgery at L4-5. It took over a year to recuperate. The LDT experience was fast and much less traumatic.”
Angelina, 37 Even with two growing children in tow, leading an athletic lifestyle was Angela’s style… until severe leg and lower back pain stopped her in her tracks. After three LDT procedures, Angela’s pain had almost disappeared, and after five procedures, she felt like herself again. “There’s nothing worse than that stabbing pain when your back goes into spasm. It’s scary. The LDT helps strengthen my back so that doesn’t happen anymore.”
Rose, 61 Rose experienced lower back pain and leg pain/numbness for two years. She had seen numerous orthopedic and neurosurgeons. She had to stop bowling and housework became difficult and painful. After 8 sessions of LDT she is 75% better, no pain or numbness in legs and only occasional low back pain. Rose reports, “I feel Lumbar Decompression Therapy and chiropractic care has saved me from surgery!” |
