I was eight years old when “Mama” asked me what I wanted to “be” when I grew up (Mama was my mom’s mom). “I want to be a doctor,” was my response; Mama reached into a bookshelf and handed me two thick medical books. The only thing I remember about the books was that I didn’t understand anything and they eventually found their way to the used book store.
Fifteen years later I met a woman who would change my destiny; her name was Dora Kunz. She is the co-founder of Therapeutic Touch, a type of energy healing taught primarily to nurses. Every Tuesday for two years a group would meet with Dora to learn and refine our skills as healers. It was during this time that I decided to dedicate my life to a healing profession and I enrolled in a pre-med program.
While I was in school I wrote down all of the things I wanted to do as a healer. A friend looked at the list and said quite plainly: “Bill, that’s not a medical doctor, that’s a chiropractor.” “Get out of here,” I replied, “Chiropractors are quacks!”
She responded: “You better find out what they do before you condemn them.”
A week later a chiropractor came to my work and gave a talk about chiropractic - I had my list with me. To my surprise, everything that was on my list was part of chiropractic. After a series of what I call "wake up calls from God", I changed my direction from medicine to chiropractic.
Today I feel incredibly blessed to be a chiropractor. My goal is to remove any interference to the divine intelligence within people and witness the power of God to heal the body.
Besides enjoying marriage, fatherhood and helping people heal, I love to boat, ski, hike, and travel. I usually have four or five books going at once and love a good science fiction or thriller movie.

Sue is married to an amazing man, Larry, and has two awesome grown children. During her time away from patients, Sue enjoys skiing, gardening, physical fitness activities, and vacationing with her family at the ocean.
Heather Belanger: Front Desk Coordinator
Heather joined the Schenck Chiropractic team in 2003. She is often the first contact a patient has with the office and “It’s a great day”, are the first words you’ll hear from Heather. She assists patients with their appointments, treatment care plans and basic financial questions. It’s not uncommon to see Heather with a balloon in her hand for the children who come in for care.
In her free time, Heather can be found enjoying live music concerts, photography, and creating sculptural art. She is fond of spending time with family and friends.
